The International Literacy Association and the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages International Association (TESOL) both include advocacy as a pillar of their standards for language and literacy leaders. But, explicit strategies for effective lobbying of elected officials are rarely discussed. Come to this session to learn 10 concrete steps you can take to advocate for continued educational funding on behalf of the students, families, and communities you serve with your/their elected officials.
